Cherry, of course, is a fruit in the botanical sense, but we eat it like candy. She is so juicy, tasty, fun that we like to peck it on a tree.
You should know that it is classified into four main varieties: Guigne, Morello cherry, Amarelle, Bigarreau. Then they are classified by species, there are more than 300 of them.
How to choose?
To pick a cherry, trust your eye, which will make the difference. Its color, more or less red, is not synonymous with ripeness and does not guarantee high sugar levels. For example, Bigarro Napoleon will retain its yellow and red color and be as excellent as a very red cherry.
You must also take care of its freshness. Cherry should be shiny, without spots. The peduncle must be attached to the cherry, which must not wither.
Cherry for our well-being

The reddest of cherries burlat, saturated with pigments with a strong antioxidant effect. But in general, cherries are rich in polyphenols, beta-carotene (beautiful appearance) and vitamin E.
If you are lucky enough to have a cherry tree in your garden, don’t wait to pluck it as it is fragile. The slightest rain can make them burst very quickly. They are also very fond of cherry flies.
